PANGEA sas is a small consulting company with solid experience in applied geology, geotechnical engineering and rock mechanics, with particular focus on the conservation of natural and cultural heritage.

Over the last 25 years, the company has built its expertise through activities carried out both in Italy and abroad. PANGEA sas has distinctive know-how in ICT technologies applied to the fields of protection of Cultural Heritage, management of georesources and assessment of natural hazards. Its skills include, among others, risk analysis, production of digital and thematic maps, Earth observation, GIS systems, geo-hazard assessment and geotechnical modelling.
The company has taken part in numerous design teams, both as team leader and as associated partner, working on:
• executive design of low-environmental-impact mitigation works;
• implementation of monitoring systems (remote sensing, in-situ topographic networks, traditional geotechnical systems);
• assessment of natural hazards and planning of protection and management measures.
In particular, PANGEA sas has provided extensive support to national and international organisations, including UNESCO, the World Monuments Fund (WMF), ICOMOS, ICORP and BLUE SHIELD, in research, preparation of nomination dossiers and implementation of management plans for numerous World Heritage sites.
Main projects include work in: Afghanistan (Bamiyan, Jam, Herat), Peru (Machu Picchu), Ethiopia (Aksum, Lalibela), Bolivia (Tiwanaku), Chile (Easter Island), Georgia (Vardzia, Uplistsikhe, David Gareji), Armenia, Jordan (Petra), Nepal (Lumbini, Kathmandu), Madagascar (Antananarivo), KSA (Hegra, AlUla, Dadan, Khaybar), Italy (Pompeii, Tarquinia, Colosseum in Rome, Piazza Armerina, Pienza, Paestum, Volterra).
